Ten hours in Hong Kong, too many incredible cocktails, a belated birthday celebration, and one bottle of Japanese sake I refused to abandon. Somehow, it all ended with my first business-class flight. Was it worth IDR 3.9 million? Well, that’s a complicated question.

My favorite thing about this piece is that it doesn’t need a profound life lesson. The humor is the takeaway. Not every travel story needs to teach us how to live. Sometimes it’s enough to have a wonderful time, make a ridiculous decision, and come home with a story worth telling.
